NATCA Participates in Meeting of The Global ATC Alliance
In addition to our national outreach efforts, NATCA also continues to ensure it has a voice on the international stage. This includes participating in the Global Air Traffic Controllers Alliance — which includes our Union, Prospect ATCO’s Branch in the United Kingdom, the Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA), the New Zealand Air Line Pilots’ Association (NZALPA), Civil Air Australia, and Spain’s Unión Sindical de Controladores Aéreos. This coalition amplifies ATC labor’s influence on the aviation industry globally, contributing to technology advancements and fostering international collaboration to keep skies safe.
On Thursday, Sept. 19, NATCA Executive Vice President Andrew LeBovidge joined fellow Alliance members for a pivotal meeting in Las Vegas. The gathering followed the highly successful Communicating For Safety (CFS) 2024 conference and brought together leaders from air traffic unions worldwide, representing more than 30,000 aviation safety professionals who oversee over half of the global airspace.
LeBovidge highlighted the role the Alliance plays in strengthening ties among the world’s air traffic controllers and safety professionals. “Building solidarity with our global partners means we can collectively address the challenges we all face and shape the future of air traffic control worldwide,” LeBovidge said.
