NATCA National Executive Board Statement on Labor Day 2026

WASHINGTON – The following is the official Labor Day 2026 statement of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association’s (NATCA) National Executive Board:

“The National Air Traffic Controllers Association honors the labor movement and recognizes the work and sacrifices air traffic controllers and aviation safety professionals make every day.

“NATCA members ensure our nation has the safest and most efficient airspace in the world. This year, U.S. airlines are on pace to carry roughly one billion passengers, the most in history. Our members guide more than 16 million flights a year and recently ensured the safety of more than 57,000 flights in a single day – a record number. And they do it with a critically staffed workforce.

“Today, on Labor Day, we thank our members for their professionalism and excellence, despite having to do more with less. The strength of the labor movement has always come from American workers — their skill, determination and solidarity. No matter the challenge, working people have always been part of the solution.

“On behalf of the air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals NATCA proudly represents, we recognize the contributions of American workers and take this day to honor our own.”
