NATCA Members Complete Safety Advocacy Training Course

NATCA President Nick Daniels and Executive Vice President Mick Devine recently participated in NATCA Academy’s Safety Advocacy Training (SAT) course. Six NATCA members completed the course, which took place June 10-11, 2026, in Las Vegas.

The members who completed the course gained knowledge of the many safety programs, processes, and requirements utilized in air traffic facilities. Participants took part in practical exercises, leaving the course with the confidence needed to represent their facility. “Through this course, I learned the importance that data sharing has on the ability to mitigate safety issues. Encouraging my coworkers to file ATSAPs is the best way I can support them in getting their issues noticed,” said class participant Caitlin Bellini (Potomac TRACON, PCT)

Class instructors were Nathan Vinson (Fort Worth Center, ZFW) and Bridget Singratanakul (Dallas-Fort Worth ATCT, DFW). The NATCA members completing the course were:

  • Caitlin Bellini (PCT)
  • Kelly Devine (Boston ATCT, BOS)
  • James McMannamy (Chicago TRACON, C90)
  • Christopher Porta (Washington Center, ZDC)
  • Lindsey Shirley (Meacham ATCT, FTW)
  • Jack Trieger (Reid-Hillview ATCT, RHV)

Future NATCA Academy classes are scheduled for November and December, and members interested in attending can register for a session.
