NiW 2026: First-Time Attendees Join NATCA’s Grassroots Mission

Northwest Mountain Region Legislative Alternate Brittney Armbrust (Colorado Springs Tower, COS) and Senior Political and Legislative Representative Annie Chavez led a foundational briefing to launch 108 first-time attendees into their roles as legislative activists. The session provided the strategic knowledge and passion necessary to represent the Union effectively on Capitol Hill, focusing on the importance of clear, unified communication.

Armbrust and Chavez prepared the advocates to discuss NATCA’s core priorities—including funding stability, modernization, and controller staffing—while emphasizing the value of building long-term relationships with congressional staff. By equipping these new activists with the tools to speak confidently about the operational realities of the air traffic control profession, the session equipped our NiW first-timers to ensure that NATCA’s message will have a lasting influence on the legislative process.
