Onboard Committee Meeting Focuses on Welcoming and Educating New FacReps Across the Union

The NATCA Onboarding Committee recently met for two days at NATCA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., discussing several topics including strengthening and modernizing how the Committee welcomes and educates new FacReps.

During the meetings, which took place on February 25-26, 2026, the committee officially started a comprehensive review and revamp of NATCA’s onboarding materials. The goal is to eventually build a centralized location on the national website where onboarding representatives and FacReps can easily access onboarding material. The committee hopes this new location will include updated guidance, structures outlines, and easy-to-use materials designed to make onboarding consistent, professional, and impactful.

Committee Chair Anthony Schifano said the next steps in this process include modernizing the look and delivery of the onboarding material, including incorporating PowerPoint presentations, engaging video content, and a more consistent, polished visual style. The committee hopes the new onboarding process will feel intentional, organized, and representative of the Union.

Another important priority the committee discussed was how to develop a clearer onboarding process specifically for members at Federal Contract Towers to ensure that members have resources addressing their unique environment and needs. The committee believes significant initial steps have now been taken in streamlining and modernizing onboarding materials and will continue to share updates and accomplishments with the rest of the Union as those next steps are taken.
