NATCA Hosts FAA Academy Meet and Greet in Oklahoma City
On April 24, NATCA held a Meet and Greet for FAA Academy trainees in Oklahoma City to connect with established air traffic control professionals and NATCA representatives. The event is designed to introduce trainees to the benefits and support structures of union membership, fostering a sense of community and engagement from the start of their careers.
Eastern Regional Vice President Brian Shallenberger, Reloaded Committee Southwest Region Representative Saja Cox (Oklahoma City ATCT), and Tulsa ATCT Vice President Andrew Karkiewicz led the discussions, sharing insights and experiences that highlighted the crucial role of NATCA in advocating for its members. With 22 trainees in attendance, the event featured questions, networking, and enthusiasm about future possibilities within the Union.
NATCA plans to host more such events to inspire, educate, and integrate Academy attendees throughout the year. This initiative is a key part of our mission to build a stronger, more informed community that advances the interests and welfare of air traffic professionals nationwide.
