Today, Aug. 19, marks National Aviation Day! Eighty-seven years ago, in 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt designated the birthday of aviation pioneer Orville Wright as National Aviation Day. The day honors the history and advancement of aviation in the United States.

The work NATCA members do everyday propels the aviation industry to new heights and ensures the safety of millions of American passengers. On this National Aviation Day, NATCA honors the work air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals and thanks you for maintaining the National Airspace System.
