NATCA Members Discuss Controller Staffing, Pay Parity with U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine

NATCA members Brian Schmelzel (Washington Center, ZDC) and Jonathan Blackwell (ZDC) recently attended a Northern Virginia labor airport caucus meeting with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (Va.).

Air traffic controller staffing, pay parity, and the Mental Health in Aviation Act were all discussed during the roundtable portion of the evening. Schmelzel and Blackwell left materials with Sen. Kaine and his staff on the importance of pay parity and passing the Mental Health in Aviation Act.

Also in attendance at the event were other aviation and airport union members, including members from different flight attendant unions and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
