U.S. Rep. Jim Costa Tours Fresno ATCT/TRACON (FAT)

On May 8, U.S. Representative Jim Costa (Calif.-24) visited Fresno ATCT/TRACON (FAT). He met with local FacRep Jerry O’Gorman and other local members. During the tour, O’Gorman explained NATCA’s legislative priorities, including pay parity, the Mental Health in Aviation Act, the Aviation Medication Transparency Act, the Aviation Funding Stability Act, and the Shutdown Fairness Act, all of which our Union advocated for during NATCA in Washington.

Rep. Costa expressed support for these bills and is already a cosponsor of the Aviation Funding Stability Act. The pair also discussed local issues, including the city’s efforts to secure funding for a new tower, ongoing staffing challenges, and modernization initiatives. Rep. Costa was engaged throughout the discussions and made sure to speak with and thank as many of the controllers as possible.
