CFS 2024 Kicks Off with Breakout Sessions on Commercial Space, Safety Culture, and FAA Reauthorization
#NATCACFS pre-conference programming began this morning with breakouts in the exhibit hall, starting with “Commercial Space, presented by Aerospace Engineer/Safety Inspector Neil Agrawal, NATCA Commercial Space Representative Paul Behan, and NATCA Director of Safety and Technology Mark McKelligan. This session highlighted the evolving challenges and safety considerations in the rapidly expanding commercial space industry.
Next, “Safety Culture” was led by FAA Human Factors Scientist Kristine Eelkema and NATCA Human Performance Representative Aaron Katz, emphasizing the importance of fostering a robust safety culture within the aviation industry to ensure the well-being of all professionals involved.
Pre-conference breakouts continued with “Reauthorization and Programs,” featuring NATCA Program Management Office Representative Dan Hamilton and FAA Program Management Office Vice President Dan Hicok talking about the effect of FAA reauthorization and key program developments.
To close out the breakout sessions, NATCA Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) Representative Amanda Richardson and FAA Enterprise Information Display System Representative (E-IDS) Program Manager Omar Baradi presented “For the Operation: Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS).”
These breakout sessions provided a strong foundation for the discussions and collaborations that will continue throughout #NATCACFS 2024, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to tackle the challenges ahead.
