Happy Labor Day from NATCA!
Today, we celebrate the immense contributions of working people across the nation. Labor Day serves as a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and dedication of America’s workforce. The labor movement is picking up momentum as workers across industries organize and unite to build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
The past few years have been monumental for America’s labor unions, marked by the highest level of union organizing in more than decade. Approval of unions is on the rise, cutting across political lines, as more people understand that unions are the most effective tool we have to challenge inequity and create change for the better.
NATCA has similarly celebrated recent organizing successes. We recently announced that controllers at 11 additional Federal Contract Towers (FCTs) have voted to join our Union. We now represent a total of more than 15,500 active members at 486 locals, including 331 Federal Aviation Administration locals, 149 FCTs, and six Department of Defense facilities.
Unions are the backbone of our country’s labor force. The story of America’s workers is our story, and it will be written by our collective strength — on Labor Day and every day.
As we honor the achievements of labor movements past and present, we also acknowledge that the fight for fair wages and working conditions, safe working environments, and the right to organize continues.
Thank you for being a part of our Union family, shoulder to shoulder with your sisters and brothers. Here’s to all the workers who keep America running. Your dedication is the foundation of our great nation, and NATCA is proud to stand with you.
Happy Labor Day!
