PCT Members Attend Washington Nationals Game with Rep. McClellan’s Chief of Staff
Potomac TRACON (PCT) FacRep Amy Lark and Facility Legislative Rep. Brian Schmelzel recently attended a Washington Nationals baseball game with the chief of staff for U.S. Representative Jennifer McClellan (Va.-4). Sadly, the Congresswoman was not in attendance as her mother had just passed, but Lark and Schmelzel brought a condolences card from NATCA for her.
Schmelzel and Lark discussed the FAA Reauthorization bill with the chief of staff, particularly the concerns in Virginia’s 4th district about adding more flights to and from Washington National Airport (DCA). Schmelzel expressed sympathy for those worries, but emphasized that the hiring provisions in the bill were great for NATCA.
This was the first time that Amy Lark represented NATCA at a legislative event. She came curious and left with greater insight on the Legislative Committee (NLC)’s work, equipping her to answer member questions more easily as FacRep.
