Jan. 5, 2018 // NATCA Statement on Announcement of Dan Elwell as Acting FAA Administrator
WASHINGTON – National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) President Paul Rinaldi stated the following regarding the announcement today that Federal Aviation Administration Deputy Administrator Dan Elwell will serve as Acting FAA Administrator:
“We are pleased that Dan will serve as Acting Administrator, and we look forward to continuing to work with him. We agree with Secretary Chao that this move ensures a seamless transition. Together, NATCA and the FAA have built a successful collaborative relationship and transformed the agency for the better. We are proud of our joint efforts that have enabled notable progress on NextGen and helped build a stronger workforce.
“Dan has brought to his roles at the FAA a tremendous wealth of experience in aviation, first as a military and commercial pilot, then as a devoted advocate for aviation safety in government and in the private sector. As we say thank you to outgoing Administrator Michael Huerta and congratulate him, we look ahead to continuing to work together, with Dan and the FAA to maintain the U.S. National Airspace System as the safest, most efficient, most complex, and most diverse system in the world.”
