July 14, 2017 // NATCA Answers Questions from Members about ATC Reform Proposals

As House Resolution 2997, the 21st Century AIRR Act and Senate bill 1405, the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2017 continue through the legislative process on Capitol Hill, NATCA members have been asking questions about how these proposals would affect them. NATCA President Paul Rinaldi and Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert went on camera to answer almost two dozen of these commonly asked questions and ease concerns regarding potential air traffic control reform.

In these videos, Rinaldi and Gilbert discuss topics like what NATCA supports and doesn’t support in regards to air traffic control reform, what — if any — changes would occur under current legislation, how the membership has publicly discussed and voted on these issues, financial and funding concerns under current legislation, and how current legislation would affect employee benefits. NATCA started sharing them with membership through its social media channels this week. These videos are getting a lot of views and spurring a lot of member discussion.

Rinaldi stated, “We know there are myths and rumors circulating regarding air traffic control reform, and we hope these videos will help you better understand where we stand and how potential reform may affect our Union.”
