Activism & Training Expo (ATX)


We’re excited to see you in Vegas! NATCA’s 2nd Biennial Activism and Training Expo (ATX) will showcase a comprehensive range of NATCA’s Academy classes, other training courses, briefings from Union committees, and insights from NATCA Representatives. Taking place Dec. 9-12, at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, ATX will provide an unparalleled opportunity for NATCA members, regardless of their experience level, to deepen their knowledge on critical work and safety-related topics that will enhance not only your personal growth but also the collective strength and activism of our Union.

ATX 2024 Whova App Instructions

For ATX 2024 we will use an event app called Whova. Download the app and log in here. After downloading, search for “NATCA ATX” on the events list, and enter the event invitation code: NATCAATX2024.

Once you have the app, you can view the agenda, add sessions to your personal schedule, send questions to ATX presenters, and sort the many sessions available by “tracks” associated with your interests at ATX. The app will also give everyone important to-the-minute updates from the ATX team.

ATX 2024 will be at the Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas.

Lodging information:

  • NATCA will make your hotel reservations according to the information that you provide. You are responsible for any charges incurred due to entering incorrect information during registration. 
  • Do not call the hotel with questions or changes. They have specific instructions that all rooming issues will be communicated through the ATX Registration Team.  
  • The hotel has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Participants who cancel less than 72 hours from check-in will be charged one night’s lodging to their credit card on file. 
  • NATCA will not reimburse you for lodging arrangements made outside of the ATX registration site.

NATCA Activism and Training Expo (ATX) Expense Reimbursement

All expenses incurred for the NATCA Activism and Training Expo will be reimbursed in accordance with the NATCA Expense Reimbursement Policy dated January 2017, with the following modifications regarding air travel.   

Individuals purchasing airline tickets for ATX should attempt to purchase the lowest rate available in economy class. Tickets for ATX shall be purchased no less than seven (7) days prior to the date of travel to be eligible for reimbursement. Members may attend nonconsecutive dates of ATX, however, you will only be reimbursed for one (1) round trip airline ticket for ATX attendance under this policy. Additional airfare purchased to attend nonconsecutive days of ATX will be at the expense of the purchaser. Proof of purchase (i.e., the original passenger ticket receipt) must be submitted for reimbursement. The purpose of travel must be indicated, along with an explanation of the official Union business being conducted. NATCA will not reimburse the cost of business or first-class airfare. Travelers may take advantage of upgrades, provided that such upgrades are at no cost to NATCA. 

Members will need to submit their voucher electronically via the Concur system. The budget line for ATX in Concur is 91. When submitting your final voucher, you will be asked to name an approver. Mick Devine  will be the name to use as the approver. You will find answers to many of the most common Concur questions by clicking HERE. If you DO NOT have a Concur account you can easily request an account by contacting Bill Bamford, NATCA’s Deputy Comptroller at [email protected]. Once you have an account, you can add all of your information for a direct deposit reimbursement. You can find the expense reimbursement policy HERE

ATX 2024 FAQs

When and where is ATX?

The event will take place over four full days from Monday, December 9 through Thursday, December 12 and held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Who is invited to attend ATX?

All members in good standing are invited and encouraged to attend.

What is the purpose of ATX?

The ATX has been created to expose members to as many aspects of the organization as possible. Members will have the opportunity to create their own class schedule for each day they attend. The scheduled offerings will include condensed NATCA Academy classes, exposure to NATCA committees and a comprehensive look at the many avenues that members have to become activists for their union.

What expenses will NATCA cover?

This year, NATCA National will cover expenses as follows:

All Facilities: For you to benefit from the NATCA lodging policy you must make your room reservation at the host hotel according to the information you provide.


The NATCA National budget will fully cover room and tax for participants sharing a room with another dues-paying member for any of the following nights: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (December 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

The NATCA National budget will cover 50 percent of the room and tax for attendees who choose not to share a room. This means that attendees opting for a single-occupancy room will be responsible for paying half of the $144 room rate plus tax for the covered nights.

SRF-12 Facilities: In addition to the lodging policy above, the NATCA National budget will cover the below expenses for SRF-12a and SRF-12b facilities incurred for ATX (excluding lunches that will be provided during ATX) in accordance with the NATCA Expense Reimbursement Policy dated January 2017.

SRF-12a: 100% of the participant’s airfare* and mileage will be covered by the NATCA National budget. Meals not provided during the event will also be 100% covered by the NATCA National budget, as will the parking and taxis.

SRF-12b: 50% of the participant’s airfare* and mileage will be covered by the NATCA National budget with the remaining balance being covered by the member or the Local. Meals not provided during the event will also be 50% covered by the NATCA National budget, as will the parking and taxis, with the remaining balance being covered by the member or the Local.

Will meals be provided at ATX?

Yes, lunch will be provided during ATX Monday through Thursday. Unless otherwise coordinated, dinners will be on your own.

Do I have to attend the entire week?

NO! To receive reimbursement for travel, you must attend ONE FULL DAY.

Will there be duty time or excused absence for travel?

No. Members will need to use appropriate forms of leave or simply plan to attend on their regular days off.

How do I reserve a room for ATX, which falls under the NATCA National Rooming Policy?

The ATX Planning Committee will reserve your room per the information you provide during the registration process. You will be responsible for any fees incurred for incorrect data you entered into the reservation system (e.g., arrival and departure dates).

Will NATCA pay for my hotel bill if I stay at a different hotel?

NO. If you choose to book your hotel room outside of the ATX registration process you will not be reimbursed for lodging.

I want to room with a specific NATCA member. Can I request this through the registration site?

The registration process will allow you to either input the name of the NATCA member that you want to share a room with, or you can request that we find you a NATCA member roommate. To make a requested roommate pairing successful both attendees must request to room with each other.

How do I CHANGE or CANCEL my ATX registration?

DO NOT CALL THE HOTEL TO CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR REGISTRATION.

Before November 7, 2024 please visit the registration website and select Modify Registration. You will need your confirmation number. To cancel your registration: once you are logged in, you will see a link to “Cancel Registration” on the right-hand side and can follow the prompts from there. To modify your registration: once you are logged in, advance to the appropriate section that needs to be modified and follow the prompts from there.

On or after November 7, 2024, please email [email protected] to modify your registration. DO NOT call the hotel with questions or changes. They have specific instructions that all rooming issues will be communicated through the ATX registration team.

Hotel Cancellation Policy:

The host hotel has a strict 72‐hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your reservation, change to a later arrival date, or change your rooming status without modifying your registration online or without contacting the ATX registration team prior to the deadline, you will be charged a fee of one night’s lodging.

NOTE: If you are within the 72-hour cancellation period and modify your rooming status from single to double or double to single, resulting in an empty room or half of a room, you will be charged a fee for a full or half room night.

When will I receive a hotel confirmation number?

You can expect to receive your hotel confirmation number about a week before the event.

SRF12 Reimbursement

SRF-12 Facilities: In addition to the lodging policy above, the NATCA National budget will cover the below expenses for SRF-12a and SRF-12b facilities incurred for ATX (excluding lunches that will be provided during ATX) in accordance with the NATCA Expense Reimbursement Policy dated January 2017.

Q: How do I submit reimbursement for my ATX expenses?  

Members will need to submit their voucher electronically via the Concur system.  

The Department field for ATX in Concur is 91. The LM2 Category is “5 Union Administration”. When submitting your final voucher, you will be asked to name an approver. Mick Devine will be the name to use as the approver. You will find many of the most common Concur questions by clicking HERE.

If you DO NOT have a Concur account you can easily request an account by contacting Bill Bamford, NATCA’s Deputy Comptroller at [email protected].  

Once you have an account, you can add your banking information for a direct deposit reimbursement.
