NATCA News Alert: President Nick Daniels on CBS Mornings
Earlier today, NATCA President Nick Daniels joined CBS Mornings co-anchor Tony Dokoupil to discuss controller staffing shortages and the stringent hiring standards for the job. When asked whether the bar has been lowered for controllers, Daniels responded by detailing the multiple job jeopardy points that applicants must pass through before becoming a certified professional controller.
“Within two to three years, less than 2% of [applicants] become a certified air traffic controller,” said Daniels. “Any certified air traffic controller out there, it doesn’t matter their race, color, religion, you can know you’re in the best hands.”
