Portland ATCT Leads Successful Toys for Tots Drive
This holiday season, NATCA members at Portland Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) had a significant effect on children across central and southern Maine through their annual Toys for Tots Toy Drop. The event was a tremendous success, collecting ten boxes of toys—exceeding last year’s total.
The effort was a collaborative initiative involving multiple partners in the Portland area, including MAC Air Group, Northeast Air, South Portland Aroma Joe’s, Portland Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), LifeFlight of Maine, NATCA members at Bangor ATCT (BGR), FedEx, and the Portland International Jetport. LifeFlight of Maine flew in toys collected by the BGR members, strengthening the collaboration across Maine. FedEx and the Portland International Jetport also pitched in by collecting toys and donating swag for attendees.
