NATCA Members Sharpen Media Skills at ATX 2024

At NATCA’s Activism and Training Expo (ATX) 2024, members selected by their Regional Vice President participated in two immersive, all-day media training sessions at a Las Vegas area television studio aimed at enhancing their communication skills and preparing them to represent NATCA confidently and effectively.

Led by NATCA’s Public Affairs team, including Director of Public Affairs Thom Metzger, Deputy Director of Public Affairs Galen Munroe, and Senior Social Media Representative Meagan Roper, the sessions offered valuable insights into engaging with the media. NATCA President Nick Daniels also addressed participants, sharing updates on Union activities and expressing appreciation for their commitment to representing NATCA and its mission.

The training covered best practices for interviews, message development, and effective public speaking techniques. Members engaged in hands-on exercises, including mock on-camera interviews, to practice delivering clear and compelling messages. These interactive sessions not only improved participants’ media skills but also bolstered their confidence in representing NATCA and aviation safety professionals.

The media training was a vital part of ATX 2024’s mission to empower members with tools and knowledge to advocate for the Union and its priorities.
