NATCA Inspires Future Aviation Professionals at Austin’s Girls in Aviation Day
On Sept. 21, NATCA participated in Austin’s Girls in Aviation Day, hosted by Atlantic Aviation. Austin ATCT (AUS) member Ashley Lane represented NATCA aviation safety professionals at the event, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for aviation with young attendees. The event, held in a hangar filled with vendors and activities, was a success, with Lane engaging with numerous girls curious about aviation.
“The girls had an amazing time exploring the world of aviation, and it was rewarding to see their interest in air traffic control,” said Lane. She provided information about career pathways in air traffic control, including the training and skills required for the profession, and fielded questions from both parents and young attendees. The event was an opportunity for NATCA to connect with the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and inspire more young women to consider careers in air traffic control.
