NATCA Academy Empowers Future Leaders with Secretary Treasurer Training in Las Vegas
NATCA Academy instructors Ryan Herrick (Minneapolis TRACON, M98) and Devin Carlisto (Seattle Center, ZSE) recently taught the NATCA Academy’s Secretary Treasurer Training (STT) in Las Vegas, Aug. 6-7.
“It is always a joy to pass on knowledge,” Herrick said. “It’s important when a fellow peer teaches you, because it has so much more meaning behind the words and the networking makes it easier to bounce ideas off others.”
This one-and-a-half-day provides soon-to-be or current local treasurers the knowledge to conduct the finances of a NATCA local within the rules and regulations of NATCA, the Department of Labor, and the IRS through the importance of strict record-keeping, consistency, and written documentation for financial guidelines. For secretaries, the class provides an assortment of tools and techniques to maintain the local’s correspondences and keep the members informed of what is happening within their NATCA local.
