NATCA Meet and Greet Unites FAA Trainees with Union Leadership in OKC
On July 17, NATCA hosted a lively Meet and Greet event for FAA Academy trainees in Oklahoma City. The event highlighted the benefits and strong support network of union membership, successfully introduced trainees to the vibrant NATCA community, and emphasized the importance of union advocacy from the start of their careers.
With the participation of 33 trainees, Southwest Regional Vice President Nick Daniels led the discussions, sharing invaluable insights and personal stories that highlighted NATCA’s crucial role in supporting its members.
Additional speakers included Organizing Committee Chair John Bratcher (incoming NSW RVP, Fort Smith ATCT, FSM), National Training Representative Jamaal Haltom (Las Vegas ATCT, LAS) Oklahoma City ATCT (OKC), FacRep Saja Cox, and Yankee TRACON (Y90) FacRep Tim Roig. Each speaker brought unique perspectives and experiences, further enriching the discussions and deepening the trainees’ understanding of NATCA’s mission and impact.
Integrating FAA Academy trainees into our Union early in their career journey is a key component of NATCA’s commitment to building a strong, informed membership that champions the interests and welfare of air traffic professionals nationwide.
