NATCA Participates in USCTA Annual Conference, Highlighting Importance of FCT Program
NATCA recently participated in the U.S. Contract Tower Association (USCTA) Annual Conference, held from June 27-28, in Washington, D.C., underscoring the critical role of the Federal Aviation Administration Contract Tower (FCT) Program. This program has been providing essential air traffic services to smaller airports across the country for four decades, with 264 airports in 46 states currently participating.
Meeting Planning and Events Representative Mindy Soranno represented NATCA’s presence at the conference, hosted in partnership with the USCTA. The event brought together airport management from contract tower airports, officials from airports interested in joining the FCT Program, air traffic control-related companies, and other aviation stakeholders. This diverse gathering provided a unique opportunity to discuss and learn about the public-private partnership that underpins the FCT Program.
Attendees had the opportunity to interact with FAA officials and key lawmakers, fostering important discussions about the future of the FCT Program and its impact on aviation safety and operations. NATCA’s engagement at the conference reinforced its dedication to supporting the FCT Program and the essential services it provides to the national airspace system.
