Advanced Legislative Activism Training Held in Washington, D.C.
NATCA members from the Central, Eastern, Great Lakes, New England, Northwest Mountain, Southwest, and Western Pacific regions took part in Advanced Legislative Activism Training (ALAT) on Feb. 21-23. Participants joined instructors National Legislative Committee (NLC) Vice Chair Allison Schwaegel (St. Louis ATCT, STL), NLC Southern Region Representative Jenny Chhetri (Atlanta Center, ZTL), and NLC Southwest Region Representative Corey Soignet (Houston Intercontinental ATCT, IAH) in Washington, D.C. for two days of instruction, and a day of advocating for NATCA’s legislative priorities.
During ALAT, participants learn about the Hatch Act, FAA funding, navigating Capitol Hill, and the importance of activism.
