NATCA Speaks at U.S. Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove Labor Roundtable
Los Angeles Center (ZLA) member Michael Schoelen attended a labor roundtable discussion with U.S. Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (Calif.-37) on Feb. 10. Schoelen highlighted NATCA’s priorities, including FAA Reauthorization and staffing concerns. Kamlager-Dove pledged her support, recognizing the importance of addressing diverse labor issues for a stronger workforce.
On behalf of NATCA, Schoelen discussed the FAA Reauthorization Act and NATCA’s priority to ensure the FAA uses Collaborative Resource Workgroup (CRWG) numbers for staffing targets, as well as increasing staffing nationally.
“When I spoke with the Congresswoman she said that we have her support,” Shoelen said. “This was definitely an eye opening experience for me, learning all of the obstacles each labor group is trying to overcome, and meeting with other leaders to discuss all of our issues.”
A variety of labor unions and industries were also represented at the event, including Teamsters, construction workers, carpenters, teachers, communication professionals, and flight attendants.
