NATCA State Coordinator Gets Coffee with U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran

On Nov. 27, 2023, Texas State Coordinator Melissa Potter (Dallas-Fort Worth TRACON, D10) met with U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran (Texas-1) for coffee in Tyler, Texas.

During this meeting, the congressman and Potter quickly connected after sharing stories about their children and their community involvement. Potter discussed some of the hardships that controllers face because of understaffing and job-related stress.

In June 2023, Rep. Moran visited Longview ATCT (GGG) and spoke highly of this experience during the meeting. Potter invited him to visit Dallas-Fort Worth TRACON in the future.

Rep. Moran noted that he would remember their conversation when aviation legislation comes up.
