U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran Tours Longview ATCT

NATCA Texas Legislative Coordinator Melissa Potter (Dallas-Fort Worth TRACON, D10) recently facilitated a tour for U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran (Texas,1st) of Longview ATCT and approach control facility (GGG). Rep. Moran learned about GGG’s operations being worked under less than ideal working conditions. He listened to the staffing concerns of NATCA members, especially related to FAA Reauthorization. 

“He was already aware of the 10 percent drop in certified professional controller (CPC) totals since 2013, understanding the need for support,” Potter said. “Detailed discussions about the facility’s aging infrastructure and outdated technology were brought to his attention and Rep. Moran expressed interest in helping any way that he can.”
