Denver Area NATCA Members Inspire Next Generation of Aviation Safety Professionals
On November 14th, 6,000 Adams County 8th graders participated in a career fair. Denver Center (ZDV) and Denver TRACON (D01) teamed up to educate these students on what air traffic control is. NATCA members and their FAA counterparts from both facilities collaborated on the effort. Students asked questions about the job and what it takes to become a controller or aviation safety professional. The volunteers talked with the students, showed them videos, and let them try their hand at controlling planes on laptops.
Special thanks to ZDV’s Nik Conners, Scott Santor, Tina Buelo, Ken Ashworth, Mike Roush, and Jennifer VanRooy; and D01’s Jason Graber and Tony Galofaro for making the event a success!
