June 30, 2017 // Philadelphia Controller Mike Ransom Honored
A NATCA-FAA collaborative workgroup was recently honored by American Airlines for their efforts to reduce delays and increase capacity during adverse weather conditions. Mike Ransom was the NATCA lead on the workgroup, and the Union is extremely proud of his contributions on the project. Watch the video commemorating the teams’ work.
Air Traffic Organization Chief Operating Officer Teri Bristol said of the workgroups efforts: “We can’t control wind speed and direction, cloud cover or fog, but we can control how we adapt our operation to maintain separation and enhance efficiency during weather events. And that is exactly what happened in Philadelphia, when members of local management and support teams, Technical Operations, NATCA Article 114 workgroups, the airport authority and local airlines formed a group to address the problem.”
