NATCA Congratulates New DOT Secretary Foxx, Thanks Outgoing Secretary LaHood – (7/2/2013)
WASHINGTON – The National Air Traffic Controllers Association today congratulates new Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, who has been sworn in as the nation’s 17th DOT Secretary, and issues this statement:
“As Secretary LaHood leaves and Secretary Foxx assumes his duties, NATCA offers thanks to the outgoing Secretary for his service and pledges to continue the climate of collaboration he helped establish. He has been an extraordinary leader and partner for the aviation community during his tenure. We wish him well in his future endeavors. We also look forward to working with incoming Secretary Foxx and his team to maintain our national aviation system as the safest and most efficient in the world. This will be accomplished through collaboration, cooperation, and coordination on issues ranging from safety to modernization and the implementation of NextGen. NATCA is optimistic about the future of aviation thanks to the work of Secretary LaHood and the opportunities presented by a new partner in Secretary Foxx.”
