Legislative Committee Completes Leadership Training
Friday, February 03, 2012

LEAP (Leadership Experience Acceleration Project) is a class designed specifically for NATCA. The goal of the class is to develop leaders within NATCA who can help our union continue to grow and evolve. Without visionary and innovative leaders, NATCA would eventually stagnate. LEAP is designed to give NATCA's leaders the skills to keep the union on an upward trajectory.

The National Legislative Committee (NLC) faces the same challenges that many of our other committees and departments face — how do we ensure that we pass along today's knowledge to tomorrow's activists?

"This challenge has been an internal focus of the NLC for some time now," said NLC Chair Steve Weidner. "We have seen tremendous turnover on the committee over the past few years. The next generation of legislative activists are stepping into leadership roles on the committee. I saw LEAP training as an opportunity to enhance our leadership skills and keep NATCA's legislative influence growing."
