IFATCA Holds 50th Anniversary Conference
Tuesday, April 26, 2011

This month marked the 50th anniversary for the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Assocations (IFATCA) as it held its annual conference in Amman, Jordan.

NATCA joined fellow participants April 11-15 as part of this special event, which continues each year to bring together Member Associations from across the world in representation of more than 50,000 air traffic controllers. NATCA’s delegation this year included Beverly Cook (Committee C, Professional Issues), Bill Holtzman (Committee B, Technical Issues), Adell Humphreys (Committee A Secretary, Administrative), Darrell Meachum (IFATCA EVP Finance) and Ruth Stilwell (IFATCA Rep to ICAO ANC).

As part of the year’s global forum, Holtzman, also a member of IFATCA’s Technical Operations Committee (TOC), was able to provide NATCA’s input on several hot issues during the event, such as surface surveillance and altitude restrictions when issuing a climb to an aircraft on a RNAV Departure.
