BTV Receives Recognition
Thursday, January 27, 2011

On Jan. 5, 2011, Shirley Chevalier, representing the local aviation community, and Doug Wood, representing BTV Airport operations, presented a collage of pictures and beautiful leather bound book to the bargaining unit at Burlington (BTV).

This presentation was in appreciation of BTV's work during the construction-filled spring and summer projects of 2010. During this period, Runway 15 was repaved end to end, Runway 19 was lengthened, and five out of the nine taxiways underwent major overhall. Despite the obstacles, the facility's air traffic controllers continued to provide on-the-job training and season their increasingly, getting-younger workforce.

"I could not be more proud of the bargaining unit for having NO runway incursions, or any major surface events during this period," says BTV FacRep Chuck LaBombard proudly. "The recognition and presentation was well deserved."
